Description

Fuji LTO7 Tapes

Fuji LTO7, Ultrium-7, 16456574, 6TB/15TB LTO-7 Tapes

Fuji LTO Ultrium-7 is a remarkable addition to the Linear Tape-Open tape media cartridges.

The all-new LTO Ultrium-7 tape drive by Fuji comes with more advanced specifications, thereby offering better functions and support.

The tape media drive comes with a native storage capacity of 6TB that can be extended up to 15TB.

The data cartridge has been built on Fuji’s signature nano-cubic technology, with a native transfer rate of 300 MB/sec and can be exceeded up to 750 MB/sec. With all these features and specifications combined and at a discounted price tag of 167.85, the all-new Fuji LTO Ultrium-7 is the best tape media cartridge to have all of your data processing, storage, managing and backup needs covered.

How often should LTO tapes be replaced?    About 30 years

Tape manufacturers usually quote the lifespan of their LTO tapes at about 30 years. However, LTO tapes are extremely sensitive to storage conditions, so this 30-year life expectancy assumes you are using ideal storage conditions – a constant temperature of about 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 40% relative humidity.

Are LTO7 Tapes backwards compatible?

LTO specifications provide backwards compatibility to read/write with previous generations. LTO drive generations 1-7 are able to read tapes from two generations prior and are able to write to tapes from the prior generation.

Composed of Barium Ferrite, the LTO Ultrium 7 6TB Data Cartridge Tape from FUJIFILM supports native transfer rates of up to 300 MB/s and compressed transfer rates of up to 700 MB/s for fast efficient data transmission. In addition to enhanced data rates, this LTO Ultrium 7 drive supports a native capacity of 6.0TB and compressed capacity of 15.0TB allowing users to store a large amount of data.

Nanocubic Technology

For LTO Ultrium 7 development, FUJIFILM has further advanced the NANOCUBIC technology with the following key technologies and has successfully achieved a higher recording density:

1.) Development of finer magnetic particles

2.) Developed uniform particle dispersion technology by applying high-dispersed binder technology

3.) Advanced nano-coating technology was improved to achieve a smoother and even thinner magnetic layer resulting in a significant decrease in tape surface defects

Reel Design

As the tape length increases, there is a tendency of increased pressure on the hub with the potential risk of causing hub deformation. This may lead to potential problems, such as tape edge damage or other physical anomalies. In order to avoid such hub deformation, FUJIFILM has strengthened the hub structure by applying a new design with new materials. As a result, FUJIFILM has successfully achieved both running stability in the drive and a highly reliable archival life expectancy.
